Two Weeks Basic Computer Training Program for Working Women and Housewives

Venue: DAMITS Campus, Rourkela

In today’s digital era, computer literacy is a vital skill for individuals from all walks of life. Recognizing the importance of digital empowerment for women, Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Institute of Technology and Science (DAMITS) organized a Two Weeks Basic Computer Training Program exclusively for working women and housewives at the DAMITS Campus.

This initiative aimed to equip participants with essential computer skills, enabling them to enhance their professional capabilities and manage day-to-day tasks more efficiently in a digitalized world.


Program Highlights

The program was designed to be interactive and practical, ensuring participants gained hands-on experience with basic computer operations and applications.

  1. Participation Numbers:

    • A total of 45 women, including 25 working professionals and 20 homemakers, attended the training program.
  2. Course Content:
    The two-week training covered various essential topics:

    • Introduction to Computers: Understanding hardware and software basics.
    • MS Office Applications: Learning Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
    • Internet and Email Usage: Browsing the web, sending emails, and online banking essentials.
    • Digital Literacy Tools: Familiarity with e-governance platforms and digital payment systems.
  3. Practical Hands-On Sessions:
    Participants practiced:

    • Typing exercises to improve speed and accuracy.
    • Creating budgets and schedules using Excel.
    • Designing simple presentations using PowerPoint.
  4. Motivational Sessions:
    The training program included inspirational talks by successful women professionals who shared their experiences on:

    • Leveraging technology for career growth.
    • Balancing professional and personal responsibilities with the help of digital tools.

Key Outcomes

The program was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the participants:
